I liked the last one more. Still pretty funny though. I can't tell if it's intentional that he chose to make the song that's ripped on for being about rape about getting what you are trying to say said correctly.

Yeah, I stopped pulling the Ultimate line about six weeks ago. I still really like it, but there's much better stuff going on over in 616 at the moment. I'll trade-wait Ultimate Spider-Man, but that's about it. I really, really hate to sound like the naysayers on CBR that have trolled us UU fans for years, but the entire line is clearly gasping for air, and the end can't be far away. Me too. If something crazy doesn't happen soon, I think the UU probably has a year, maybe two, left in it. Miles Morales and a few members of his supporting cast could be transported to 616 at the end of Spider-Men 2, and I think that would be for the best at this point.

Yeah, I will not at all be surprised if it came down to Miles being the only title published in Ultimate Marvel. I don't read Ultimates, but the new arc in MM: USM is really disappointing me.

I kind of stopped going to CBR to get away from this nonsense. *begins to pack bags* I hate to be included but I have to admit as well that I stopped pulling the line. But that's all I am going to say because truth be told I don't really have anything good or bad to say about the UU. Really the only books I am picking up now is Injustice and Earth 2. Tom Taylor is the man. He can write new concepts for things that have been dated for decades. I wish we had him writing the Ultimates back in the day,

It might turn out to be really great (it probably will be, given the talent involved) but I think the idea of a female "Thor" is stupid. Thor isn't a title, like Spider-Man or Wolverine, it's his name. Other than that, the design is okay. Ultimately, even though I don't know anything about this new Thor, I doubt that I'll pick the new book up due to the "Thor is unworthy and a new character gets his powers" storyline that's been told a dozen times already.

How are you guys dealing with Hawkeye ending with issue #22?It might turn out to be really great (it probably will be, given the talent involved) but I think the idea of a female "Thor" is stupid. I took it as that is literally Thor. Like how Loki turned into a woman.

Chick Thor will be the main character of the Thor relaunch, beginning in October.

I read a great quote on twitter that said something along the lines of "why are people all of a sudden mad about a female thor when we had a frog thor." He made a good point.

time.com/2987551/thor-marvel-woman/Apparently Dick Thor will no longer be called Thor. Even though that's his fucking name. Sage6Paths: Frog Thor was still Thor. This is a completely different character, who we're supposed to take seriously as "the new Thor" stealing Thor's name. The name Thor isn't a mantle, like Captain America, it's his name. So as a huge Thor fan, I'm royally pissed. Why, Marvel? Why, Aaron? You had the best Thor run in years and you fucked it up for no reason. At least I still have Spidey.

When it comes to most things comic, I'm excited for nearly everything. Wolverine is dying? Sweet, can't wait to read it despite him eventually returning years from now. Thor is unworthy and a woman takes his mantle? Awesome, that sounds cool I'll try to read it if I can. Original Sin? I'm down for it. Guardians 3000? Never read much about them, but know of them and am looking forward to it. New Captain America? You get the picture. There's rarely something I hate comic book-wise.

It's like calling your daughter Henry.

I hadn't heard this, but I can't say I'm surprised. Fraction's been pulling away from Marvel lately, and issue #19 is three months late. I'm glad it's ending relatively soon, before it gets tired and fades away. I'm still amazed at the way Hawkeye exploded onto the scene. It's a solo book about a B-list Marvel character, with a writer who had just penned a string of colossal flops, and it hit so hard that it spawned imitators faster than you could say "Bro". Twenty years from now, I think Hawkeye is the book we'll be thinking of when we talk about the 2010s.

Though I don't agree with it, whenever a character becomes a household name, a female counterpart is created. Suddenly there are Spider-Womans, Bat Women, Bat Girls and Supergirls. And sometimes they're not female but younger counterparts, teenage versions like Wonder Girl and the goofy sounding Aqua Lad. But I think they all sound rather goofy when you first hear them.
Captain America's female counterpart is called Miss America. Iron Man's is called Rescue. It's just what happens when a character becomes a household name. And it's a money grabbing sales pitch in which the culture of die hard comic book fans will fall for every single time, no matter how contrived it may be. There was even a female Robin at one point. We've had X-23, the psychic sons of Jean Grey, a She-Hulk and a She-Thing, Emma Frost could be considered a female Xavier and Firestar could be considered a female Human Torch.
And now that Thor is a household name, we're getting a female version of Thor. I don't agree with it either. But I look forward to seeing a female Avengers comprised of Miss America, Rescue, the new female Thor (Thora?) and She-Hulk.
There's even female counterparts for lesser known heroes like Namorita, Namor's female counterpart. First we got a Captain Marvel and then we got a Ms Marvel.
And it usually takes quite a lot for one of these female counterparts to entice me. I like Ms Marvel, Emma Frost and She-Hulk, but not very much. Really, the only female counterpart creation I've truly respected was Spider-Woman from Ultimate Spider-Man. That's the only time I've fully, fully supported the direction. And that was because it's premise was so interesting. But I dislike the half a dozen 616 female Spider-ladies. Spider-Girl was pretty cool for a short while because she was Parker's daughter, it was set in the future and was an interesting alternate future universe in it's own right. But as it stands, all the contrived female counterparts that have appeared in the last few decades have felt like nothing more than contrived marketing strategies, except for Ultimate Spider-Woman who I think is a great character and a great spin on the mythos. For all I care, every forced female counterpart could be written out of existence, but Ultimate Spider-Woman would always stand out as a good creative idea in my eyes.

Does no one want to talk about the Thor news? Here's my question: What about Iron Man? Seems like a new Iron Man would be the next logical step after introducing a new Cap and a new Thor... After Iron Man became a household name with the help of the Iron Man movie, we got Rescue. There was also the nicknamed "Iron Maiden" from The Ultimates 2, piloted by Black Widow.

Can anyone think of a superhero that's a household name (i.e, so popular most 40 year old mothers are aware of them) that doesn't have a female counterpart?
To my mind, the Green Lantern and the Flash are the only superheroes that the general audience are aware of that don't have female counterparts. But I'm not much of a DC guy so I could be wrong about that.
Oh, and the Silver Surfer. He hasn't had a female counterpart yet. So I suppose he's next on Marvel's list.
I think that's about it. So by Marvel's executive, business logic, it's perfect time to churn out a female version of Thor. And what's more, they're even giving the woman a man's name. This diversity nonsense knows no bounds.

Ultron looks great! I also like the other Ultrons as well as Cap's suit. It looks like it's straight out of a comic, which is exactly what I want in an Avengers movie (and a Fantastic Four movie, but Fox seems to be taking the exact opposite route).
I think they're sort of ignoring Tony Stark's character arc in Iron Man 3, which I think is a good idea, because that probably would have been a bit better for Iron Man's last appearance instead of taking place before he (as Iron Man) has to play a very important role in Avengers 2.
