I am way more saddened by this than I thought I would be. Fialkov had an open door with the "parallel dimensions" thing to bring in/back all kinds of characters. Now it's closing.

This is really sad, the best book in the UU gets cancelled. Fialkov plan of ever increasing cast was just too cool, I wonder if he gets another UU title or if there will be another UU title at all.

Im sad for Fialkov and the UU as a whole. An ultimate book has never been outright cancelled like that.
But just looking at it as a book cancellation? Im not surprised. Comic books are a medium that require a lot of give and take as far as writing and art is concerned. As good as Fialkov is, the art needed to meet him halfway, and it didnt even come close. Between the art and it not being a good entry point to new readers, I'm really not surprised they sunk the book so quickly. Either they'll try with a new X book or get ready to merge some UU characters with 616.

I really hope UU characters don't come to 616. I want them to stay in their own respective universes, but having a crossover every once in a while like Spider-Men, I think, is fine.

I read the first issue, but I really wasn't that fond of it. I wasn't much of a fan of the characters and, though the art itself was fine for me, the coloring had something, I don't know how to describe it, that pushed me away. I should try to get the rest of the issues when the #6 gets released, though it's saddenning that an Ultimate series is being cancelled. I too hope they bring back the X-Men. Wood's (and to a lesser extent, Spencer's too) run of Ultimate Comics: X-Men was one of the finest Ultimate books in my opinion and I'd like to see those characters get more love.
