Spring Breakers 2?!: Ed Brubaker's scripted Maniac Cop reboot is coming too, i wonder how it will differ from the original. But most importantly, Paul Verhoeven is making a new movie!!!!!!

First Gotham Trailer. It's pretty interesting. When does this premiere again? I think this was a little cheesy to be honest, but I guess it's to early to pass any judgment about the show so far.

Arrow, Smallville, and Agents of SHIELD all had chessy beginnings but they grew into it. I think the show could work if it actually it detective work and not just action. But I feel like it's going to be the opposite.

Haha, i got banned from CBR forums for 2 days, because i kept asking about the Community threads and they told me the answer was somewhere in the CBR chat thread, which i'm not bothering to catch up with. I sincerely hope Plawsky fixes that Ultimately Off-Topic up, but i gotta admit for a site called freeforums, the post making is really fancy, especially quotation tags. The new Star Wars film is rumoured to be called An Ancient Fear. These titles keep getting worse. I loved the title A New Dawn but I didn't like Dawn of the Jedi much. ((I don't know how to add the spoiler tags.. I'll learn I promise lol))
I agree with you there! While it had a multitude of issues: the opening sequence wasn't necessary, the german doctor at the raven croft institute was wayyyy out there, as opposed to playing up Max's loneliness in earnest they kinda poked fun at it instead making him a bit of a cartoon, and finally not enough time with Peter and Harry, even if what was there did more to show their friendship than Raimi's. Otherwise, I finally got what I wanted out of a Spider-Man film: A real quippy, heroic spiderman that loves what he does, tangible and convincing character relationships, and true heart felt plot beats. I can forgive the overall shoddy plotting and other issues I listed haha.

Agemoi I thought that the opening scene was the best part of the movie. In fact, that's the only scene I liked. After the logo showed up it just went downhill for me. My favorite part though had to have been that shot of Gwen's lifeless body . Amazingly shot.

Yeah, I have written a review on MarvelCinematicUniverse.com...err...I mean ComicBookMovie.com but I'll try to do something a little more in depth with a video review that I'll post here. I read your review and I totally agreed with it. I think I was more okay with the issues but the flaws you pointed out were definitely there. I'm still skeptical of the Sinister Six movie but I'm excited for it all the same. I think we're getting Kraven next Spider-Man film.

And now as Mr Monster Munch for creating a second account. I was also told off for excessive advertising via PMs yesterday. I think it might be a linear Mortal Kombat action game like Shaolin Monks was. Perhaps a Shaolin Monks remake. It could be Injustice 2, but if Kiefer Sutherland's signed to do a Mortal Kombat game, it probably isn't.

What about Sinister six movie? Have you written a review of ASM2? What did you think of my review? <3 See, Sony is so obviously trying to keep their rights to Spider-Man from reverting to marvel by setting up a mini cinematic spiderman universe. Its too bad because I wish Marvel could get the rights back and put garfield in the proper spiderman movie we all deserve. Sony doesn't have a creative head, ala Kevin Feige, to consult about the big picture. I COULD write an overall review of ASM2 but I'd have to leave work for that to happen haha I do think the idea of a sinister 6 movie is incredibly ambitious, in that no one ever made a film about a villain, let a lone a team about villains with one thing in common: Get revenge on spiderman/Peter Parker. Will it be GOOD? That remains to be seen. Drew Goddard is writing AND directing and he's a talented guy. SO we shall see. Agemoi I thought that the opening scene was the best part of the movie. In fact, that's the only scene I liked. After the logo showed up it just went downhill for me. My favorite part though had to have been that shot of Gwen's lifeless body . Amazingly shot. Thats the thing about opinions my friend! haha here are my thoughts though: That Gwen scene was fantastic, so Im glad you at leas dug that haha. And while i liked the opening scene well enough on its own, it had no narrative purpose at the opening of the film; It was a retread of ground covered by the first film complete with a shoddy, unnecessary action sequence with characters the audience feels zero empathy for. And, ultimately, Peter going through his father's things again introduced the idea of "roosevelt" in a more emotionally effective scene. That, to me, made the first 5 minutes narratively redundant in every way. The film should've either opened with the first Spidey/Alexei scene, or introduced Harry into the fold and transitioning to the first spidey scene. The Montage of spiderman just BEING spiderman made me want to tear up because we've never seen anything like that before. Especially the scene with spiderman helping the kid get home with his science project. That, and every scene between Peter/Gwen, Peter/Aunt May were so lively and convincing i couldn't not like it. Hell, even the two real scenes Harry and Peter shared gave you the feeling that they were insanely close early in life. But at the end of the day, there was A LOT of silly shit that didn't work. The scene with Harry and Norman, the tonal inconsistency with Max Dillon, the silly german doctor, and the sloppy narrative structure. So I can't begrudge anyone for not liking it as much as me. I don't 100% understand the complete disdain by many, but hey.. again with opinions. haha This is why it fascinates me though, because people either love it or hate it for so many different reasons. Its a great topic for conversation in that sense.

I don't like this argument at all. Sony purchased those rights and has been making movies of Spider-Man since 2002, noone used this argument, but now when you have Marvel Studios up, people are insisting the Amazing Spider-Man movies are bad, because they're made with the sense of profit, which is what all Hollywood movies are about, making money. We've had 5 movies of Spider-Man and you don't think they're good enough to be "deserved" whaat? That's some heavy bias right there. Not to mention an outright weird comment. Poor Avi Arad doesn't get any respect anymore. Yeah it's gonna be fun to see how Marvel-drones react to that. Drew Goddard is helming the Daredevil stuff too, so the internet can't hate him 100%.

Yeah, I thought my bans were a bit harsh too. I suppose they're just extremely strict about ban avoidance over there. I had never even received as much as a warning as Mr Monster Munch before yesterday. I'm ok with it though. I've got this place now. @ Agemoi - Glad you're here, buddy. What did you think of The Raid? And given the lengthy posts you like to provide, I expect one now. :/

That's some heavy bias right there. Not to mention an outright weird comment. 3) Poor Avi Arad doesn't get any respect anymore. 4) Yeah it's gonna be fun to see how Marvel-drones react to that. Drew Goddard is helming the Daredevil stuff too, so the internet can't hate him 100%. eesh, still getting used to this reply system so ill just number it and do it that way haha And as a forward, I really don't know why you took my post as an attack.. Im critiquing whilst giving credit where its due. Might want to go back and check so there are no misunderstandings! 1) Woah man, I never said the Amazing Spider-Man films were bad If you go back you'll see that i thought i got the best spidey experience from ASM2. In fact, I take these 2 Amazing Spidey films over Raimi's any day. The only part of Raimi's films that are "better" are their narrative structure not being clunky. And yes, since Marvel Studios has shown they make more than competent superhero films based on their own properties, I think its absolutely fair to wonder what couldve been if they got the rights back. I would personally love to see Banner, Stark, and Peter geeking out over science. Thats not unreasonable, thats just an opinion. And of course everything is profit driven, and i don't know if you've noticed but Sony is having INSANELY bad financial troubles. So yes, it looks more obvious than usual that sony is scrambling. They have release dates for Spider man 4 which garfield isn't even signed for! Thats what I'm deriving my comment from. And, regardless, I WANT to see where this whole universe building goes because I AM intrigued. No one used the argument in 2002 because no one took comic adaptations seriously. Very different times, my friend. 2) You took that and made it sound insanely entitled, jeez. Now, I didn't use the best wording, but man, what I MEANT is that I like what we have, but we're at that point in adaptation history where we know a competent narrative and accurate character portrayal is POSSIBLE: Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the best example. I dig the ASM films wholly and completely, but the narratives are messy. As a film lover i don't think expecting a competent narrative is bias whatsoever. 3) I mean, Avi Arad has tried to get things done, but his track record doesnt match Feige at this point as far as world building is concerned. Granted we aren't even there yet, and the ASM2 showed the same exact narrative growing pains of universe building that Iron Man 2 showed. And I dig that film too! So maybe he IS on to something, we'll see. But at this point I stand by my comment there 4) Marvel-drones… what? Dude I seriously can't tell where this hostility is coming from. Who the hell said anything about hating Drew Goddard? If theres something GOOD about a film I point it out. Ive done just that in my previous posts! Absolutely nothing but friendly discussion about the film. Critique is verrryyy different from attacking something man.
