Doctor Doom and Kangasue Theories and Queries.
Doom in Ultimatum: "I had Magneto's daughter - the Scarlet Witch - murdered. I knew Magneto would then declare war on mankind and when it was over... I would be there to pick up the pieces. I... never imagined that Magneto either had the power or the will to destroy the human race... What good is a king if there is no kingdom?"
What's clear is that whoever was the Doom imposter, attempted to continue his legacy by replacing him. And it sounds like he/she was a dedicated follower of the real Doom, attempting to carry out his agendas.
A popular theory is that whoever was posing as Doom was actually Mary Storm, mother of Susan and Johnny Storm. This sounds perfectly logical, given her affiliation to Doom in the past. She even bears the dragon tattoo, symbolising her allegiance to Victor Van Damme (the real Dr Doom). So wanting to continue his legacy makes a lot of sense.
Doom has often spoken about taking over the Earth or ruling an alternate reality of his own. A Doom bot was even sent to take over the Supremeverse (home universe to the Squadron Supreme), which continuity seems to suggest was sent by whoever was impersonating Doom at the time.
1. So did Doom take over the Zombieverse (the Marvel Zombies universe)? Is the Zombieverse now his empire?
2. Kang (the alternate future version of Susan Storm who was aligned with Reed in their conquest to take over the Earth) has most probably taken over an alternate reality since, making it an empire of her own. Considering Kang's agenda in Ultimates Disassembled and the message she left us with - "I... I have to go back further. Have to try again. Have to make things right. Have to save the future..." - suggests she may now have taken over an alternate reality, similarly to how Reed tried to take over the Earth with his City of Tomorrow. With this in mind, is it Kang that's to blame for the tears in the universe? Were the creatures that appeared in Ultimate FF #1 Kang's? Has all this reality altering effected the very fabric of reality? Is she at least partially to blame?
3. If Mary Storm does turn out have been the Doom imposter in Ultimatum, how will Sue react to her fiancé, Ben Grimm murdering her mother? I know Sue always hated her mother, but I won't be surprised if this makes Sue feel conflicted in her feelings toward Ben. This may even lead to Sue becoming more like her alternate future counterpart, Kang. Perhaps it is the reveal of Ben killing her mother that will eventually lead Sue becoming just as much of an extremist as Reed Richards and her future counterpart (Kang) were.
4. If Kang is coming back, providing she has now taken over her own reality, and if Doom now rules what was once the Zombieverse, could we eventually see a war between Sue's reality and Doom's. It's a stretch, but considering everything I've mentioned above, it seems like a solid theory. As well as something I would LOVE to see.
5. Also, can anyone tell me whether Doom's trans-dimensional travel is technological or sorcery/magic? I think it could be the latter, but I'm not sure.
Thoughts?
